Duties of Current Occupation

Just graduated with a BA in Equestrian Studies, and am hoping to pursue a masters in Equine Education .

Equine Work Experience

The summers between college I worked at a remote sports summer camp, in the equine department, where I rose through the ranks over several years. I acted as barn hand, up to riding instructor, up to assistant barn manager. We worked in a team of five, with twelve horses in our care. We practiced mucking out, turn out, grooming and tacking up, horse care, equine first aid, exercise riding, and teaching on a daily basis. As the assistant barn manager I learned to organize feeding, lesson schedule, farrier and vet visits, and staff hours. As a riding instructor I learned how to mange large group of riders, both on ground and mounted. I am proficient in trail riding and hacking, with groups up to 8.

Specialities

I enjoy and thrive as a riding instructor. I can work in groups or private lessons. I specialize in flat work and beginner jumping. I have worked with children all the way to young adults.

Type of Ride Work

I have been in weekly riding lessons since I was eleven years old and was riding with adult amateurs by sixteen. I am very keen and proficient in flatwork and have grow up riding a rolodex of horses. I was trained in European showjumping initially. In college I took up forward seat hunter riding and jumping. In my spare time I hack with clients horses and friends. I am a confident rider who always puts my horses and safety first.

Competition Details

I was apart of SCAD's Equestrian Team from 2021-2022 and partook in IHSA rated shows, in Equitation class.
