I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
I've been riding, teaching, and managing horse care for six years. This has included teaching children and some adults, helping lower level young riders, and feeding and caring for 30+ horses.
Maintained the lesson schedule for an extensive program, which required leadership and personnel management skills; taught students of all ages; and managed the chore schedule for a 30+ horse barn, including feeding, watering, turnout, etc.
I've been riding for fourteen years, seven of them seriously. I'm a second level rider working towards third level. I've taught riding lessons to beginners of many ages for seven years, including some coaching and grooming at shows. My responsibilities as a groom/coach have included regular horse care, such as feeding, mucking, and throwing hay, in addition to managing a lesson schedule. I've also taught at horse camps and birthday parties, and now have developed competence in interweaving child care and equine instruction.
I hope to find work at at a dressage farm and be involved with breeding and training young horses. I'd like to advance my skills as a rider and make progress toward the FEI levels. At this time, I’m primarily interested in programs in the mid-Atlantic region that spend the winter in Florida for the winter season.
