- Housing on the property would be ideal, but it is not necessary for the right job. Also, even though I do not currently own my horse, I would like to in the future so stall availability is a plus, but also not mandatory
Qualifications
Most importantly, I truly love horses. They are special and taking care of them well brings me great joy. Went to a Monte Roberts clinic, read his book, studied his videos and then applied those principles in my own training. I have read numerous books and studied numerous videos, everything from riding philosophies and techniques to equine physiology, conformation and psychology. Proficient in Huntseat, dressage and western styles of riding. Very effective with lounging and long lining.

Equine Work Experience
Huntseat equitation lessons and camps in York England from age 8-12 in large enclosed arena. Owned first horse from age 13-16 in Marietta Ga. Responsible for all aspects of care and riding on extensive trail system. Post college (BBA) worked at 3 Club Meds for 2 yrs. Responsible for the Equestrian Operations including teaching lessons, leading up to 15 guests on trail rides down the beach and through the surrounding the landscape as well as managing the staff responsible for the care of the horses and barn. 1989 -1992 lived on Oahu, Hi. Purchased gorgeous TB and trained with a Grand Prix level dressage rider and taught lessons. 2001-2014 sole owner and operator of a 7 acre, 20 Stall barn in Ocala Fl. Taught beginner and intermediate lessons, retrained ex- racehorses to be sound sport horses for clients and continued my own training with a high level hunter/jumper instructor who was also a show judge. Responsible for all the care of up to 13 horses ( my own plus boarding horses
Specialities
I have experience with handling stallions including two boarded at my farm in Florida. A Gypsy Vanner mare and colt boarded with me. I am proficient and effective with lunging and long lining.I maintain an immaculate barn, free of clutter with clean stalls. Effectively managed the team responsible for the horse care and barn up-keep during my time at Club Med, frequently pitching in and lending a hand when necessary, because I believe being part of a team means working alongside with them.
Type of Ride Work
Started in England on feisty lesson horses ranging from large ponies to huge draft horses. Flat Work plus jumping. I owned my first horse at 13 and got to ride out in the open on an extensive Trail system. Club Meds rode wide variety of horses over lots of different terrain, including hilly countryside, and down the beach. In Hawaii took dressage lessons on my own 17 hand thoroughbred. In Ocala I rode a wide variety of horses including upper level showhorses with My instructor.
Competition Details
Competing was never my focus although I did read a lot about other peoples experience with it as well as articles, written by judges and well-known equestrians describing the standards they were looking for. As a child, it was not part of any horseback riding program that I was involved in. As an adult, my riding circumstances (ClubMed and Oahu) that was not available. I would enjoy facilitating and coaching other people in their quest…. Like a supportive, and encouraging mentor /coach.
