Bio
I'm wanting a job out west with horses.Qualifications
No I have not.
Duties of Current Occupation
The many duties that I have at Sunburst are; bringing in horses every morning and letting them out at the end of the day. Grooming, feeding, watering, bathing and saddling. Other duties include checking their health, farrier work, trail guiding.
Equine Work Experience
I have not worked in what you would call professional equestrian environment. I have worked at Sunburst stables for two years this coming September. I like to believe that I do a good job of helping run it professionally. Before Sunburst I didn't work at a horse stable, but I have a real passion for horses. I am always around them. I have always wanted my job to deal horses. Whether it is riding all day from sunrise to sunset, training or doing farrier work.
Specialities
The horses that I currently work with now are 13 geldings, and 7 mares. Most of which are Quarters and Arabians. I also work with one Belgian draft, one thoroughbred, couple of Morgans, and one percheron.
Besides the owners and me. No one who starts at Sunburst comes into it with a lot of experience with horses. In fact most don't have any. Part of my job is to train them to have good basic horsemanship and always think safety when they're working with them.
Type of Ride Work
I am not what you call a rider who is going to win any competitions but I am a good rider. I have ridden horses both problem, green, and young. All which were western style and some bareback. I can jump but I'm not going to win any money doing so. When it comes to starting I know the basics. I have always wanted to go beyond what I already know when it comes to training horses and I still do.
Competition Details
I have competed in rodeos, but those were the rough stock events. I competed in Saddle Bronc riding and Bull riding. I have always wanted to do team roping but I have never had the opportunity to do so.
