Bio
I am a former head groom and barn manager for a 5* eventer, and I have ridden myself since I was 7 years old. While grooming professionally, we spent a year overseas in England and competed at Burghley.Duties of Current Occupation
Barn manager, groom, stall cleaning, turnout, feeding, holding for vet/farrier, braiding, clipping, wrapping, hauling
Equine Work Experience
Head groom and barn manager for 5* eventer, rode Dressage competitively since childhood. While grooming, we spent a year in England with 3 horses and competed at Burghley and Le Lion. At home, I managed a barn of around 20 horses and 3 employees, while continuing to be the head groom for my employer. I rode on my college's equestrian team, and I worked as a camp counselor for a riding camp from the ages of 8 to 15. I also worked at the barn where I boarded my horse in exchange for lessons all through high school, and volunteered at a hippotherapy program.
Specialities
Worked with stallions and young horses (youngest being 3). Managed a small team of people. Can braid and do quarter marks
Type of Ride Work
Dressage/flatwork. I have jumped a handful of times, but small and under supervision. While grooming I would flat, hack, and do trot sets.
Competition Details
Competed in Dressage up to 3rd level. Worked as competition groom for eventer through the ranks, beginner novice to 5*. I have groomed at Burghley, Le Lion, Kentucky, Maryland.
