Young horse dressage trainer wanted for award-winning Oldenburg breeding farm in eastern PA. On-site housing is available in a separate, fully furnished one bedroom apartment overlooking the 40 acre farm.
Growing up around horses, livestock, and breeding my whole life, and then working on a farm for a decade. I have experience in a wide array of barn/horse related duties and jobs and feel very confident and comfortable in caring for animals.
Everything that comes along with taking care of horses and a farm, and all aspects of maintaining lawns (mowing, blowing, edging, trimming, weeding, spraying, planting, etc.)
I grew up around horses and I love being around horses, livestock, and the barn setting in general. I have experience in grooming, giving shots, giving medicine, feeding, identifying if something is wrong, treating wounds, maintaining inventory, setting up appointments, assisting the vet and/or farrier, general maintenance on and around the barn, operating tractors and other machinery, yard work/landscaping, repairing whatever breaks, and dealing with all of the unexpected little (or sometimes not so little) things that happen while working on a farm.
Western. Grew up doing walk, trot, lope competitions. Little experience team roping.
I haven't competed for a long time, but as mentioned above, I grew up competing with adults in walk-trot-lope shows and placed amongst the top few riders in each competition I entered. In the past 15 years or so, I have still attended many rodeos where my father and my boss competed in team roping and I'm familiar with how it works.
