Equine Work Experience
25 years since my first pony ride. Competing all over South Florida. After I turned 18 nothing was handed to me, I had to work to ride, to show, to manage barns. Long days cleaning stalls to compete on the weekends. I’m well rounded from level 2 dressage, hunter, jumpers, western, I’ve even vaulted a few times. After I turned 18 I bought my first OTTB, retrained him into a jumper and sold him. That’s when I started buying and selling horses until after college. When I took a break from the buying and selling, I was still riding under a professional. Training and competing her 5 horses everyday. I landed a job managing a 10 horse barn as the rider and manager of the horses needs. Farrier calls, vet visits, feed scheduling, etc. I worked this job when I was 19 with a salary of $200 a week in return she paid my weekend shows for the 12 weeks of WEF. It was my dream to show there and I did whatever I could to achieve that.
Type of Ride Work
Schooling young horses, show jumping, catch riding, lunging, hunters
Competition Details
Competed at rated and unrated show all over South Florida. Winning ribbons and trophies. My dad wasn’t fond of spending money on my equestrian career so after I turned 18 I did the work all on my own with the help of the amazing equine SoFlo has to offer. I’ve exercised Grand Prix level horses. Shown at Plantation, WEF, Parkland, Jim Brandon.
