Duties of Current Occupation
I am currently finishing up my last year in high-school, but am looking for a long term working student position at a barn in Florida.
Equine Work Experience
Most of my experience is in Hunters, dipping into the jumper ring a handful of times. Never owning a horse myself meant adapting to the needs and goals of the horse in front of me which was a great learning opportunity although only showing up to 2’6. I've loved working as a groom for past trainers and
Specialities
I am very Detail oriented, taking pride in making the barn run clean and consistent. I work hard to understand what I'm doing and the reason behind. Being apart of an IEA team where I was consistently in charge of a group of other talented riders meant I learned a leadership role. I was responsible for getting them to the arena on time, looking sharp, & answering every question, while also getting myself ready to show. As well as doing 4-H, which taught record keeping & creative problem solving.
Type of Ride Work
I've ridden all types of horses with every quirk under the sun. I've helped a couple young green horses in there training in the lower jumpers. Equitation is very important to me so is Flatwork. I love a riding a hot horse, but have equal experience with a push ride.
Competition Details
I was apart of a very active show barn, competing all over Florida but specifically at WEC and Fox Lea. While not always having a horse to show with I took every opportunity available to be around the horses as much as possible. This included not only showing myself but also, lunging, warming up, grooming, and being a supportive team member when I didn't have the means to show myself. The Interscholastic Equestrian Association was also a great for me in the 4 years I competed.
