Hello, my name is Carlie Gladu, and I am 18 years old. I am interested in the working student position with housing for me and my horse. I am currently enrolled in a four- college that has not been able to provide me with the education that I originally thought it was going to. I am an equine studies major and although the equine classes have been amazing, the other classes are not helping me reach my goal of training horses. I feel as though this school is holding me back and if I was to become a working student at your facility, I would be able to learn and grow more in the field I want to. I have been around horses my whole life, so I live on a farm, but I really started to show horses and start working with them more consistently in 2019. When covid hit I was not able to show anymore so I started to work in my family's barn on our property where I leased two horses. From the end of 2019 to the end of 2020 all I did was take care of the barn and the horses.

I specialize in working with young OTTB 's. I am also skilled at doing sport horses braids. Pulling on main Grooming Riding and training

In of 2020 I purchased my own 3-year-old OTTB gelding. With the help of my trainer I trained him from only having a walk, t, to now jumping full courses and being proficient in first level dressage tests. During this time, I was also helping several people ride their own horses and working out quirks of horses I didn't own. Although it is primarily my parents' personal barn, I made it come to life during covid and I was the only one taking care of it because that's how I liked it. I was taking.
