Qualifications

I currently hold a bachelors of science in equine facilitated therapeutics and equine management. Under this degree I have taken classes learning about training, nutrition, instructing (including therapeutic lessons), and health management. Secretary/rider of the Wilson College mounted drill team. Worked as main caretaker for a herd of 24 horses in a therapeutic riding program. Assisted with vet and farrier appointments.

Equine Work Experience

Chosen to be on the Wilson College mounted drill team from 2019-2023. Volunteer coordinator from 2022-2023, weekly therapeutic riding volunteer at Wilson college from 2021-2022. Therapeutic riding volunteer at High Hopes 2016-2019. Had an enjoyable summer working with children during summer camp helping them expand their riding skills and horse knowledge as well as managing volunteers at Peck's Farm and Equestrian Center from 2022-2023. Part of the equine care team at Treasure Hill Farm from 2017-2019. Assist veterinarian in all procedures including, holding horses for medical care, cleaning surgery sites, wound care, etc. at Red Baron Farm during academic breaks. Student instructor for therapeutic riding lessons from 2022-2023. Developed strong instructional skills, along with patience and understanding the mechanics of riding to help bring up future riders in the therapeutic field and able body riders alike.

Specialities

I have experience with feeding and caring for a variety of different horses from young horses to show horses.Taught summer camp for children of varying skill levels and put together equine-related activities for them to participate in. Lesson planning for walk trot therapeutic riders as well as intermediate flat lessons for able body riders.Experience in coodinating volunteers for numerous positions required in therapeutic riding lessons, some of those including, ring setup, leading, sidewalking

Type of Ride Work

Intermediate hunt seat rider with the desire and attitude to continue working on my skills. Comfortable riding school horses and horses that need some work. Willing to continue to develop my skills and love to take constructive criticism to not only improve myself but also help my equine partner. Have taken lessons and classes in western horsemanship and equitation along with basic vaulting lessons. I am always up to learning something new!

Competition Details

Limited competition experience but always willing to learn and try something new. Experience as a show groom with Bit By Bit stables. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of horse shows and helping get riders and horses ready to do their best in the ring.
