I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
4-H horse project participant and competitor for 10 years from age 8-18
Participated in Pony Club at age 13
Competitive barrel racing from age 5-18
Started my own horse camp on my family's ranch in high school where I taught kids the basics of western riding and horsemanship, as well as how to care for horses.
A majority of my riding experience has been in the western saddle--showing at 4-H fair, barrel racing, trail riding, etc. Though as I mentioned above, I did participate in Pony Club for a year when I was 13 and loved learning how to jump on my little mare. Most of my riding experience has been on well broke horses, but I have ridden problem horses before and have had my fair share of falls. Overall I would consider myself a confident rider.
I participated in the 4-H horse project for 10 years, from the time I was 8 until age 18, where I showed my horses at the Routt County Fair each year. I also participated in Pony Club and Alpine Horse and Rider Shows. Additionally, I barrel raced at my local gymkhana and regional rodeos from the time I was 5 to 18.
