Documents
Duties of Current Occupation
I was a groom for a grand prix rider as a kid/ teen, I trained beginner-armatures while working at an OTTB rescue in High Scho. Comfortable teaching people groundwork, warming up & jumping exercises, explaining suppleness & proper athletic positions.
Equine Work Experience
I have experience with repurposing young Ottb’s for the hunter/ jumper ring. I have been a working student and groom for a Grand Prix rider and show stable. I am very punctual and detail oriented when it comes to preparing horses and riders for the ring. I am most interested in being a riding-groom, assistant or armature trainer with an experienced trainer at a professional stable that will also help me grow as a rider. For the last 4 years I have worked with friends and family on their horses and have recently taken lessons to expand my skills in Scottsdale.
Specialities
My specialties are ottb’s, Jumpers, 3yo+, and suppleness focused ground work. I have competed in western pleasure and Hunters/EQ, but prefer the jumper ring. Can train people & horses from start to jumper course work and always learning more every day.
My grooming specialties are for the jumper ring. I can help with warm up jumps, tack transfers, after show cool down, bandages, and after ride health care. At home I can help with complex hacking schedules, health maintenance and feed.
Type of Ride Work
Great with flat work exercises/hacking and helping horses dial into their yields and become agile. I would like to take my jumping to the next level, I am doing well at 1m10 at home but want to grow more. I have some experience helping start a 3 year old. I have been trained by professionals how to handle younger horses, encourage bit connection, suppleness, & begin to Jump. I have halter broke 2 younger horses that were rescue projects and was able to get them under saddle before selling.
Competition Details
I competed in IEA as a child and participated in A-rated shows, achieving successful and clean rounds at 1m Jumpers throughout high school. Since then, I have shifted my focus from showing to training other horses/riders for competition. I paused my own competitive activities during college due to the high costs of shows and boarding, but found a rewarding opportunity in training and supporting other riders.
