I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
I’ve been in charge of running a barn of 30+ horses, including feeding, turnout, and basic care and training. I also train and work with problem horses, as well as starting colts under saddle. I also teach beginner lessons at walk/trot/canter level.
I’ve been riding for 7 years, and I ride all disciplines. I’ve focused more on basic groundwork and starting training under saddle, and I’ve had clients in the past for both starting horses as well as lesson students, typically young children (anywhere from 5 to 14). Ive owned 3 horses myself, and have also worked as a stable hand at a barn with over 30 horses. Basic nutrition, health care, training, etc. is something I have experience with regarding equine care.
I’m great with kids and timid, novice riders. I focus on building confidence as well as showing my students that horsemanship is more than just riding. I’ve done a little jumping myself, I ride all disciplines. I’m best at teaching beginner lessons at walk/trot/canter, and I personally love watching new riders become more confident and skilled over time! I’m not a skilled jumper, but I have a passion for teaching and all things related to horses. I hope you’d give me the chance to interview!
I’ve ridden in several disciplines, including showjumping, barrel racing, showmanship, hunters, and trail riding. I’m not much of a jumper anymore, but I’d be happy to try my best to educate others!
