I have been riding since I was 14, or for 8 years. I own my Paint, although he is 28 now and deserves a nice retirement. Through my brief time with IEA, I have ridden Thoroughbreds and Arabians as well. I worked for summer 2016 to exercise a neighbor’s endurance Arabians. In summer 2018, I stated stayed with a host family in the Czech Republic and helped them with training two very green Cobs. In a few years, when I’ve saved up enough money, my dream is to rescue and train a green horse of my own. What I would look for is partnership and trust. My mom has experience with training a BLM mustang and my riding instructor has also trained several green horses so I know I have a good support system.
Running and maintaining a ranch, including coordinating or completing repairs, and winterizing a property. Animal husbandry including assisting with births, basic wound care (draining abscesses, dressing scrapes), disbudding, castrating, intravenous vaccines, administering supplements, and hoof care. And horticulture like trimming, cutting, planting, weeding, fertilizing, and harvesting.
I have some experience showing for 4-H and IEA. I have scribed for small horse shows with Denver Equestrian. I ride both English and western. I prefer English, but see the benefits of all disciplines. I am adept at all three gaits, leg yields, collected, extended, and working and one stride simple changes, ground work like turn on the fore, hind, and half pass, and basic dressage (shoulder-in for example) and basic jump courses (lower than 1m). I ride at level 3 CHA, some crossover to level 4.
