I am a student at Feather River College up in the Feather River of California. There I have participated in the following classes. •Draft Horse Driving Clinic (Beginner and Advance) •Mare and Foal •Yearling, Weanling, Foal •Western Equitation Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced •Natural Horsemanship •Equine Science •Mule Packing Intermediate and Advanced •Mule Packing Field •Light Horse Judging Clinic
Grooming, Saddling, Organizing daily tasks for my employees,
I have worked in many different states, with horses striving for a hands-on education. This has helped me accumulate a vast variety of knowledge and experience. For example, I started my equine career at Aspen Meadows in Pinecrest California at the age of 16, and was able to gain experience and learn the trade of packing mules.
My daily duties entailed: shoveling manure, grooming 70-plus horses, feeding, loading the hay truck, memorizing trails, and handling guests in a safe, respectful, professional manner. This opened up many other opportunities for networking across California, which then allowed me to travel and work in a vast variety of states across the United States outside of just my home state of California. States such as Utah, Wyoming, South Dakota, Tennessee, New Hampshire, and more. This allowed me to again, build a reputable and professional, creditable network with many companies and individuals, all while obtaining an abundance of skills along the way.
There are a wide variety of skills that I have obtained over the past years, a lot of them might be out of practice but still relatively easy for me to pick up. Those skills include but are not limited to: •Training Young Horses Under Saddle •Natural Horsemanship •Light horse judging •Harnessing and driving a pair or individual •Packing Mules/ Outfitting •Imprint training foals •Taking out trail rides •Operating machines •Managing barns •Teaching Lessons •Roping, Reining, &Cutting
Natural Horsemanship has always been my go-to equitation style, and I have been able to use this skill and ride not just western horses; Cutting, Reining, Western Pleasure, Young Horses Under Saddle, and Trail Guide horses from trail guests to outfitting. Though I am mostly western, my experiences aren't just limited to that particular discipline. I have been fortunate enough to learn the skill of harnessing and driving, along with Endurance and English; Hunt seat, jumping, and flatting
My competitions are as followed. For Western:
•Halter Classes •Western Pleasure Classes •One Cow Horse Reining class •Team Pack Scramble •Individual Packing Contest •Interscholastic Pack Team Scramble •300 Yard Western Race For English: Norfolk Chapple Hunt Pace
FFA: •Light Horse Judging for four years •Mule Packing with Natural Resources for Three •Showing Livestock at fair all four years.
