Eager rider and former horse owner looking for work in the Southeast Florida area/ West Palm. I have been around horses my entire childhood and am looking to gain experience in the equine industry now that I am older. I am a quick learner, easily able to adapt, and have a natural passion for horses.
I am looking for home groom position. Closer to Hamburg area, the better. I can clip, plait, bandage, treat wounds etc. Willing to go shows too. I am a teamplayer, but can work solo too. Horses health is my main priority. I am looking for long time solution. Can lounge and i would be interested to get to ride some flatwork/hacking (not necessary, just wanting i could further my skills) I would need a live in-position and would be greatful if i can take my two wellbaved cats with me :)
I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My experience with horses and their care stems from a lifetime involvement with them. After college I worked for 7 years as a barn manager at a privately owned barn. During that time I also held other side jobs, such as caring for some of Return to Freedoms mustang herd, and exercising other privately owned horses.
Large case load with the ability to understand and work with: codes and laws; applicants and their teams; and to enforce County codes and regulations, all of this while navigating aggrieved members of the public.
Though I left my career with horses, I did not stop owning & caring for my own horses, all the while raising two daughters with my husband on a large cattle ranch. Currently we own two horses, one of which was bred and fully trained by me, the other an OTTB restarted by me. Throughout the years I have never had a fully push button trained horse, I have either re-started OTTBs, or trained all of my youngsters at home (with lessons from top level dressage and event trainers from time to time). My youngest daughter (now 19 years old) & I currently compete in 3-Day Event Horse Trials in Area VI. She is competing at the Preliminary/Intermediate level, on our 12 year old home bred horse, and I at Novice with my 7 year old OTTB. Though, I myself in my younger years did not attend Pony Club, my daughter was a pony clubber, so I am very familiar with their program, which can be a good base for any equine curriculum.
Working with all ages of horses by giving them the tools to be confident and secure.
Project manager with Santa Barbara County, that is given a high level of autonomy, due to my efficient, knowledgeable and trustworthy demeanor.
I have skills in natural horsemanship, dressage, stadium jumping and cross-country.
Though I loved my job my barn manager job in the late 1990's, I realized eventually the wear and tear on my body from exercising a lot of horses a day, without having a retirement plan or good benefits, could not be sustainable. Thus, I ended up working in a field more closely related to my college degree. Though I think I would be really great at managing a barn, without backing 8-10 horses a day.
USEA 3-day eventing. When I was younger, I competed through the preliminary level. During the raising of my children I focused on fine tuning my dressage abilities and schooled local shows only. Nowadays, me and my OTTB (Take the Shot) attend Horse Trials (Novice), along side my daughter, who rides our homebred horse (Cinematic) Preliminary/Intermediate. It gives me something to do at her shows, and I have fun.
