Equine Work Experience

Hello! My name is Skye and I've loved working with horses as extensions of my family since I was 10 years old. I grew up helping my family manage a home farm of 3 horses in Texas, USA, soon moving to earning my colors with the Hickory Creek Hunt in North Texas from age 12-18. During university, I earned a spot on the intermediate team for Berry College Equestrian Team in Georgia and competed in both Western and English equitation as well as in show jumping. At age 27, I was hired to manage a dressage/carriage driving farm of 12 horses in California, rotating their turnout and feeding/exercising them daily. I managed the living situation for an intern house on the farm in addition to assisting stall cleaning/vet/farrier/show schedule appointments. I traveled with the farm owner to away shows, assisting them with training and boarding.

Specialities

Led a team of 3 intern riders and managed intern household. Worked on ground and in saddle with stallions, mares and geldings from age 2-20.

Type of Ride Work

Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse, Irish Draft, Irish Sport Horse, Norwegian Fjord, Shetland Pony
