Equine Work Experience
As for experienced I have a bachelor's degree in the Equine Industry and Management with nearly a decade of hands-on experience in horse care, riding, and stable management. I am also the sole caretaker of 15 year old mare named splash for 5+ years now managing all aspects of her care including a cross-country relocation. I have worked with Saddlebreds, Quarter Horses, Morgans, and a variety of horses across multiple barns in CA, NH, and TN. I am skilled in lunging, grooming, feeding, turnout, tacking, and a bit of show prep. With experience in herd management, basic first-aid care (TPR, deworming, bandaging), and coordinating vet/farrier visits.
Specialities
I have experience working with a wide variety of horse breeds, particularly Saddlebreds, Quarter Horses, and Morgans. I’ve done some work in high-turnout environments and am comfortable in a fast paced barn setting. While I’ve been around foals and understand their behavior, my handling experience has been pretty limited. In past roles I have taken initiative on tasks and collaborated closely with teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
Type of Ride Work
I primarily ride English with my mare, including flatwork, light jumping, and recreational trail riding. I have also participated in multiple endurance rides with her and have taken some lessons on Saddlebreds, allowing me to gaining experience in the unique movement and show style of other equines. While I do not ride professionally, I have a well-rounded background complementing my hands on horse care experience.
Competition Details
While I haven’t competed much personally, I have attended several shows, especially when I was younger. During my time working at Anderson Stables, I assisted at a show by grooming and tacking up Saddlebreds for competition, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a show environment.
