I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
Training horses, dressage, showjumping, trail riding, groundwork/natural horsemanship, daily care, (after) vet care, grooming & bathing, barn management, event management, brand development/experience.
I have been riding for over 20 years and have trained a wide range of different horses in several disciplines.
Experience overview:
I specialize in classical dressage and training horses with problem behavior in a violence free way. A bond of trust between horse and trainer is my primary objective.
I'm very interested in the (natural) behavior of horses and have the intrinsic desire to keep expanding that knowledge. I am very studious, with a never ending thirst for knowledge and will to learn and improve!
Riding from back to front and forward down, focussing on straightness of the horse, building the right muscles for an independent balanced walk with correct lateral bending and therefor correct use of the back muscles. This way building a strong, flexible and balanced horse with a good top-line and strong hindquarters, back and abdominals. I find that it doesn't matter what discipline you're practicing, a good base is the foundation to achieve your goals and guarantee your horse's happiness.
