Equine Work Experience
I began riding as a 7 year old. I'm now 18. I started out western to develop my seat safely, then switched to English when I was confident walk-trot-canter. Since then, I've worked with and ridden OTTBs, neglected grade horses, started a couple horses from the ground up, and purchased a feral, barely halter broken horse, who is now my personal horse. I have also been a working student for two different trainers, and have since been promoted to an assistant trainer by one of them. My first working student position lasted almost two years, while my current position has been held for around a year. I am looking to move forward into an equestrian career, and finding an out-of-state position at an eventing barn seems to be the next indicated step for me to advance my skills. I have references available upon request (the two previous working student/assistant positions) and am willing to answer any questions you may have.
