Qualifications

I am a mostly remote high school student, my only experience is included through volunteer and jobs.

Equine Work Experience

Previous experience includes volunteering, and official title as stablehand. As a younger teen, I volunteered at Ride-On Therapeutic Stable. There, I got to work with children, people with disabilities, and more. My tasks at Ride-On mostly included grooming, cleaning, tack care, hospitality, treatments, feeding, and lesson assistance. My actual work experience was at Tilley Andalusians. The horses there were show horses, and needed extreme attention. I groomed each horse there at least two times a day, my requirements there were to clean any dirt, snot, or bedding off until “it looks like they are ready for tea with the queen” as my manager said. I was trained to focus on small details, these horses were expensive and needed to be treated as such. My work there also included working horses, usually exercising and driving. I grew up with horses, so there is no clear time frame.

Specialities

I have worked with stallions, foals, and broodmares. Each requires a different approach and care. I work well with other people, and I can balance tasks easily. I like to work thoroughly and have been trained to do it quickly. More information is in my work experience.

Type of Ride Work

I have ridden and worked with problem horses and green horses. I have experience with both English and Western styles but always preferred to stay on the ground. I am young myself, so I do not have experience starting a horse.

Competition Details

I have personally competed in competitions . I have also been to parades and shows as a competition groom several times in the past 5 years. Most notable was being a groom and rider in the Rose Parade.
