Duties of Current Occupation

I have experience as a working student, groom, rider, and assistant trainer. Extensive experience lunging, riding, grooming, teaching lessons, tacking, preparing grain and supplements, interfacing with clients. Basic equine first aid.

Equine Work Experience

I have worked for 3-day eventing, dressage, and hunter/jumper trainers--but show jumping is my passion. Extensive experience with young horses (riding, handling, etc), including re-starting young thoroughbreds off the track. Comfortable riding and handling all kinds of horses--youngsters, stallions, hot/sensitive rides, etc. Exceptional flatwork skills with a dressage foundation, have schooled jumps up to 1.25m.

Specialities

Experience with stallions and young horses. I have been solely responsible for home barn (up to 20 horses) and clients while head trainer travels to shows for 1-2+ weeks. Experience teaching lessons from beginners to mid-level jumping. Have always worked on very small (3-5 person) teams and am used to lots of responsibility. I am an excellent student, always eager to learn and improve. Exceptionally finessed flatwork, I can figure out new horses quickly and implement training effectively.

Type of Ride Work

Mixed experience--3 day eventing, dressage, and show jumpers. Looking for work in a hunter/jumper or showjumping focused program.

Competition Details

Currently working in a very competition-focused program. I am comfortable staying home and taking charge of a program, or traveling to shows to groom, ride, and otherwise organize or manage show experience. I have limited personal competition experience due to financial constraints, but itching for the opportunity to compete myself and am willing to work hard for it.
