Qualifications
I haven't taken any horse related classes unfortunately, but I have absolute loads of experience riding and working with/around horses.
Duties of Current Occupation
As I mentioned, I am not currently employed at an equine related job, but I do have my own horse and am always at the barn.
Equine Work Experience
My horse experience ranges from mucking out stalls at my old lesson barn to caring for my own horse everyday! I started out riding western and switched to English when I bought my first horse and I've been jumping and flatting english ever since. I worked at a horse therapy ranch for about 3 years and I spent that time mucking stalls, turning out horses, grooming and tacking up and walking lesson students around the arena. I also would say I have a fair amount of experience with horse vet care, and can treat anything minor myself, I always have supplies on hand. I lived on and next to a bunch of horse ranches and facilities my whole life, so I am no stranger to anything horsey!
Specialities
I've worked a lot with mainly problem and "hot" horses, and I bought my own horse as a basically un-broke 3 year old. I know how to handle strong horses and I am very calm is those stressful situations! I love starting horses. I have also been around foals a lot, I used to live next to a stud farm and I helped out a lot.
Type of Ride Work
Flatwork and jumping are my jam, but my horse is still very green so I am looking to really get more into it! I also love a good trail ride.
Competition Details
I haven't had the chance to compete, only because I haven't been able to afford it. I've spent lots of time at shows though! I always tagged along to shows with the lesson barn and helped get all the horses ready.
