I have 6-7 years experience as a groom and working student~ I've groomed at home and away at shows for H/J and dressage trainers as well as for Cavalia Odysseo. Some FEI grooming experience(Jumpers)at shows and home. Looking for a home groom position
I’ve been riding on and off since I was about 3 years old. I did some light jumpers competition when I was a teenager in Canada. Around 18-20 I worked as a working student for two different eventing barns on the east coast, during which time I groomed for individual competitors on my free time. I went back to AZ where I started learning about polo. I was able to experience the groom/exercise rider life for Cavalia Odysseo while they were on tour in Scottsdale around the same time(2018). Most recently I've been the head home groom for a private show jumping barn in WA, and briefly groomed for an FEI jumpers rider at Tryon and Kentucky doing the 4*(6 horses). I’ve worked as head groom for a top dressage barn in Scottsdale AZ. I have worked in every climate from muggy 100°s to chilly -10°s and everything in between, the horses need me as much as I need them!
Capable of all equine grooming skills, handling high maintenance horses and stallions Experienced in grooming for and knowledgeable about liberty, eventing, fox hunting, polo and hunter/jumpers, dressage as well as most western disciplines. Riding level for classical is a rusty intermediate/experienced seat with quite hands. Brave, but I need confidence building in some areas of my riding. I give great lessons to beginners on and off the horse; care, diet, anatomy, equine safety etc.
English-jumper, polo, eventing, foxhunting, very little dressage Some experience handling horses trained in Liberty-Roman riding, bareback, Cossack as well as experienced in a western seat Western-backpacking/trail, some barrels(beginner level) I ride with soft hands(I need work on keeping contact in classical riding). I don't agree with smacking a horse(esp. while mounted) for any reason, so don't ask me too. ALL horses should be allowed time in turn out -and allowed to be a horse
I’ve only competed in a handful of jumpers classes in Canada when I was 15-16. Did several schooling shows both in jumpers and in eventing in the US never had the opportunity or horse to compete in anything rated. I’ve been a whipper in for a fox hunting club, and have attended and worked countless horse shows of various disciplines and events(including Cavalia(it's like Cirque Du Soleil but with horses)) so I am no stranger to horse shows. I prefer Home groom/sole charge over show grooming
