Equine Work Experience
Maintaining horses, ponies, mules, and donkeys hoof health and the overall welfare of the animal. Trained to use a variety of tools such as rasps and nippers to trim and shape a horse’s hooves. Adjusting, reshaping, and applying horseshoes to the horse’s hoof to maintain proper balance of the foot and lower limbs. Trained in iron work and I can make custom shoes using blacksmith skills. Handling a variety of animal temperaments, knowledge of the movement of each animal and providing solutions for lame animals and preventing further injury.Evaluate the horse’s conformation, gait, and hoof balance when determining what adjustments need to made.
