I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
I unfortunately haven’t had the funds to do any of the exams such as bhs exams, but I have some pony club ones up to c+ then never got round to doing B.
Looking after showing/dressage horses at small private yard. Only worker looking after 5-6 horses, mucking out, feeding, general yard duties. Carrying for brood mares and foals. Handling show foals. Large horses 17hh + and also riding.
I have worked at many different yards. When I was 14 I worked at a local riding school, helped out in lessons, rode there horses and did yard work. I have also volunteered at a RDA centre since I was 14 and still do help out now and then. Including leading in lessons, and doing all other yard and lesson duties. When I was 16 I moved to Shropshire, at bow house equine, which is an international competition yard. I did all yard duties and caring for a range of horses. I also rode there horses and had lessons off the top riders. Also Participated In there on site showjumping comps. I then went to Exeter, and worked at Hyperion equine. Caring for and rehabilitating horses which was in need of allot of care. I would ride daily, having lessons, in sj and flat work. Do all yard duties, and allot of hacking. Recently worked on a showing/dressage. I was the only worker looking after there 5-6 horses and Young stock ( read above for more info)
specified on attached cv.
I have experience in flat work, pole work, grids, and showjumping up to 1.40 in the past, dressage, x country. I learnt how to ride at 3 year old, most of the ponys I learnt how to ride on where a bit silly which lead me to have good grip in the saddle, and control in the hands. Horses I have owned have also be very bold and confident horses such as pure bred Hannovierans, TB ect. Which meant they were a bold and silly. But also rode ones where I needed to give them the confidence.
I have competed since the age of 6 in my own horses, up to 1 meter 5 but never affiliated due to lack of funds. I have competed in riding club , pony club comps, and a few cash jumping. I have competed fizzy excitable horses, and also slow and collected ones.
I have had a year off competing due to horses I have had recently not been up to jumping which can be explained more if asked.
