I finished my first Diploma 12-weeks Stable Staff Foundation Course During this initial period of training I undertook such activities as carrying out yard duties, looking after racehorses, riding out, attending lectures and studying for their technical certificate and functional skills qualifications. I achieved my Diploma Level 1 in Work based 12 weeks Apprenticeship Level 1 Diploma in horse Care Functional Skills Qualifications and a First Aid Certificate.
The National Stud Since being at the National Stud I learnt a lot; this includes being a good team member and developing the ability to work with others, also during the residential course I have attended lectures on getting mares in foal, transport of horses, basic anatomy and the theory behind practical skills. I have also learnt to handle a variety of different horses. These include; mares and foals, mares in foal, yearlings, spellers and prepping foals for the Sales.
