I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.

Level 2 Equine groom qualification - completed with distinctions BGA grooms clean
mucking out, grooming, hunting preparation, hacking, schooling, leading, lunging, preparing showjumpers, eventers and dressage horses
I've worked at a busy military riding school and livery yard. There I prepared horses for lessons, schooled the lesson horses to keep them fit. I took out hacks on Sailsbury plain and out to Stonehenge. I also prepared hunt horses for the RA hunt. I worked at a busy Showjumping and livery yard, I often took sole charge, lunged the fit showjumpers and helped with the youngstock. I also went out and groomed at a few competitions but ultimately decided that I prefer to be a home groom, but I'm also happy to go and groom at shows if it's necessary.
I'm good at working with other people and working around children. I can groom a horse and tack up quickly and I have a lot of experience handling fit competiton horses as well and stallions and youngsters. I muck out to a high standard and I'm generally very neat and tidy. I have high standards of turnout for competition and in general. I have turned out showjumpers, dressage horses, eventers and hunt horses. I’ve got show grooming experience, I can plait and clip.
I’m happy to hack and lightly school well mannered horses or equally happy to be in a non ridden role
I've never personally competed, I've worked competitions at an old yard, and I've groomed at competitions both professionally and for my own horse.
