Due to a change in circumstances I'm currently looking for a part time riding role, 4 mornings a week, but can be flexible. I have over 16 years experience within the industry and have produced horses from youngstock up to intermediate. I'm happy to work with all sorts, from happy hackers to fit competition horses. Quiet but firm rider, who can deal with quirks if necessary. Ideally within 30 mins of Newark but happy to travel up to an hour for the right place.
From Showjumping, to showing/eventing and foals through to stallions I have experience in all aspects of the equestrian world. I am looking for my next long term journey where I can spend my days working with the animals I love, and carry out my exceptionally high standards for the right person.

English, Maths, History, Biology, PE, Commercial Studies. I must admit to not putting a great deal of importance in my school work at the time, as all I wanted to be was a jockey, and I spent more time than I probably should have working at the racing stables than I did on my school work, but I guess that's the benefit of hind sight. But I wouldn't have changed a thing, as I loved being with the horses and my job.
I have been working with race horses again, for 2 years now and I'm loving it. I had been out of the racing world for 20 years, but I have missed that so much, and I was much happier working with horses, and I am again...I’m back for the horses.:)
I started working at my father's racing stables when I was 6 years old working with the quieter horse and my pony. I competed in gymkarnas, went hunting, did cross country. I left school at 16, and went straight to work, I was an ameture jockey for 1 year and I had 12 rides as an ameture on the flat and national hunt, before I turned professional on my 17th birthday. I was then a conditional jockey until I lost my claim at 21 years old. I was then a professional jump jockey. I had a decent career with over 400 rides under national hunt rules.
I am a very competent rider of all horses, whether they be quiet and easy, or lively with attitude. My yard work (mucking out, yard sweeping) are 2nd to none, in way of speed and my thoroughness of doing the tasks properly. My grooming skills are also of an extremely high standard, as I believe a clean well cared for horse is a happy horse. My hands are soft hands, in as much as they are extremely sensitive to each and every horses individual needs.
I am a very competent rider of all horses, whether they be quiet and easy, or lively with attitude. My yard work is expectional, whether it's mucking out, straw, shaving or paper bedding. I always take great pride in my work and the horses I looked after through every aspect of their care, as they rely on us for their total care requirements.
