Equine Work Experience

I have owned a horse for the past four years. Before this I worked on an ad-hoc basis caring for other peoples horses on various yards.

I have worked on a busy livery yard/ riding school. This role included tacking up and untacking horses and ponies, turning out/ bringing in from the field, basic yard duties including mucking out, water, hay, feed, tack cleaning and other basic care such as picking feet out, grooming and plaiting.

I have previously also worked on a racing yard where I did basic yard duties and gained experience handing young horses.

I provide ad-hoc care for a friends horses on her small private yard. On this yard there are six horses are stabled overnight night and three horses who live out 24/7. I am in sole charge of running the yard, ensuring the horses needs are met and basic yard duties are undertaken. This is sometimes for a a short period of time such as a couple of days but can also be for a longer time period.

Specialities

I am driven and motivated, I am able to work as a team on a yard however I am also confident to work alone. I am passionate about providing a high standard of care for the horses I am looking after.

Although I do not have any equine qualifications I am keen to learn and grow my knowledge and skill set in all areas.

I am able to keep the yard tidy and get the yard tasks done in a timely manner to a high standard.
