Duties of Current Occupation
Diary management, client liaison, dispensary organisation and medication ordering. All yard duties, exercise riding (safe and sensible horses!) and competition grooming. Chiropractic treatment for animals.
Equine Work Experience
I have grown up around horses and was part of the Braes of Derwent South Pony Club participating in all disciplines and qualifying for various Championships. I have 15+ years of experience working on various yards from freelancing for owners of private yards, competition and liveries, prestigious Dressage yards, and rehab and sales livery.
I myself own an old event horse (got her to 31 years old!), who retired from ridden work a couple of years ago due to my further studies which I have now completed - a Masters degree in Veterinary Chiropractic whilst working full time at an equine ambulatory practice (it was as intense as it sounds!). She did however come with me during my undergrad degree in Warwickshire from 2015-2018.
I am now a fully qualified and insured Veterinary Chiropractor and have a small client base, but having re-located back to the North after living in the South of England from 2015, I am able to be more flexible towards varied prospective work arrangements.
Type of Ride Work
Have ridden a variety of horses over the years and from age 12, I had opportunities to hack, school, jump, and take xc a variety of young inexperienced sport horses through to advanced eventers.
I have previously groomed at Badminton and Burghley as well as attending many other horse Trials across the country, either grooming for a professional rider or solely with my own mare at a variety of competitions.
Competition Details
Competed unaffiliated and affiliated at BE90 level. Pure dressage to Novice/Elementary level, and SJ at 90cm-1m. Made all Pony Club teams at 11-15years old qualifying for Novice Horse Trials Championships in Cheshire 2009. Qualified at Henley County Show in 2018 for the Veteran Horse Championships Regional Final. Sunshine Tour (Amateurs) at Hickstead - Eventers Challenge with my lovely old mare for fun - qualifying for the Championship there too.
