Equine Work Experience
I started riding lessons when I was 8 years old, then transitioned into equestrian vaulting when I was 16. I worked as an equine assisted therapy volunteer for a month in June 2017. As a vet student and recently graduated veterinarian, I have equine veterinary experience. During my final year in college, I was a volunteer at the equine university hospital, working 6-7 shifts a month, working with mares and foals, as well as some stallions. Furthermore, I have completed multiple externships in equine orthopedics and sports medicine in Belgium and in Spain, working with elite sport horses and racehorses. I also completed a 3-month internship at KESMARC, KY, a rehabilitation and sports medicine center, working with both primarily with racehorses.
Specialities
Verbal and written mastery of English and Spanish, basic knowledge of French and German. Experience working with children and disabilities, both with and without horses. Experience as team leader and coordinator for different areas of camp and church activities.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden mostly flat work and jumping, sometimes working problem horses. I don't have experience starting horses but I would love to learn and put the hard work in.
