I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
I have done up Galope 1, 2, 3, 4+ (which includes dressage, show jumping and eventing)
I been around horses since I was three and rode on and off up until the age of nine. Then I started doing weekly lessons and soon after got my first horse on loan. From then on, I have had the pleasure of owning three different horses (not at the same time).
I have gone to a fair share of competitions over the last few years and before quarantine and covid-19 hit, my mare and I were starting out in eventing.
I have helped out around different yards near my house, turning horses out, grooming, getting them ready for lessons, giving beginner and intermediate lessons, lunging... I also worked leading children as young as three years old on pony rides and taught them the very basics.
I also helped for free for a few months with working with the disabled and horses. I am currently working at a eventing yard in Belgium.
I started off at a showjumping yard, but currently I am at a dressage yard. I have participated in showjumping, cross country and dressage competitions.
I am also a lover of ethical training and natural horsemanship. I dabbled in the Parelli, Clinton Anderson or Monty Robberts approaches for a while but feel most comfortable with positive reinforcement. With my current horse, I use groundwork to complement the ridden work.
