Summer work

My name is Sinead Murphy. I am 18 years old and living in Co. Kerry. I am currently in kildalton college doing the level 5 horsemanship and equitation course. I have my bhs stage 1 (ride and care) and my ride road safe completed. I have experience in many different yards doing all yard duties and exercising horses. I am looking for a summer job from June - September. I would be happy working as a stable hand or groom with the opportunity to ride.Willing to travel with accommodation.

Duties of Current Occupation

I am not currently working in the equestrian world, I am working part-time in quality control for a company.

Equine Work Experience

Unfortunately I have not worked officially in the equestrian world, that's why I am looking for new opportunities to gain experience. But I have worked voluntarily in my equestrian centre cleaning stables, grooming horses and giving lessons to beginners.

Specialities

I am currently specialising in eventing (show jumping, dressage and cross country) although I have also competed in dressage social competitions.

I know perfectly well how to take care of horses due to my experience. I have not worked officially or under contract as a groom cleaning boxes and padoocks, but since I was very young I was always in my riding school center on Saturdays and Sundays doing the necessary work without any remuneration in exchange.

Type of Ride Work

Throughout my equestrian experience I have ridden all types of horses, from nervous horses to horses with trauma due to mistreatment. I have also ridden young horses and helped to break them in.

My specialities are dressage and jumping. I am quite good at cross country but I am more of a beginner in this field.

Competition Details

Yes, I have competed in eventing. I haven't worked as an official groom but I have helped out in the moments when it was necessary to help big competitors.
