Duties of Current Occupation
Grade 12 scholar graduating at the end of 2024. Have spent a few hours babysitting and tutoring English. Spent 20+ hours volunteering at SARDA (South African Riding for the Disabled).
Equine Work Experience
I rode for 6 years with a lesson once a week. (until about 4 years ago)
I learnt the riding disciplines of show jumping, cross country, and flatwork.
Learnt how to groom, tack up/down and wash the horses and other basic horse care. Can do basic plaits.
Learnt all the gaits (through to gallop).
I volunteered for 6 months at SARDA (South African Riding for the Disabled). There we either led the horses or walked next to the rider helping them and communicating with them to help them better understand the instructor.
Type of Ride Work
I rode for 5-6 years consecutively (2014- 2020). Flatwork Show Jumping (+-80cm) Cross Country
I mainly rode riding school horses in this time period, however I was sometimes given "greener" horses to try get rid of bad habits.
