Duties of Current Occupation
I groom horses before every ride, cleaning hooves and tacking up with Western or English saddles. I fill hay nets, muck out stables, distribute grain and vitamins, and manage bedding, maintaining overall stable cleanliness and organization.
Equine Work Experience
I’ve been riding for 11 months, initially twice a week, now three times. I ride Western but am capable in English tack. I’ve worked with 13 horses, including green and newly backed horses, focusing on groundwork, desensitization, and flatwork training.
Specialities
I managed the stables for four days, handling feeding, cleaning, and monitoring horse health. I specialize in flatwork, training stiff and recovery horses, and desensitizing them to trail obstacles like plastic bags, cars, and unfamiliar objects.
Type of Ride Work
I’ve walked, trotted, and cantered on almost all the horses I’ve ridden. I primarily focus on flatwork, where I work on refining horses' movements and responses to commands. I also perform groundwork, including lunging and desensitization training. In addition, I’ve participated in a trail ride and have experience working with green horses to develop their confidence and control under saddle.
Competition Details
No competition experience, but open to it as I advance in riding.
