I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
I know I still have plenty to learn and I'm eager to do so.
I'm currently employed at installation company and we install theater chairs all over Europe.
I first met with horses as a was a child and I instantly fell in love with them. I started riding lessons when I was ten years old. Then was no way back I was hooked. In 2006 my parents bought small ranch then we decided to breed Quarter horses. From then on we always have from two to five horses at home. So I had to learn everything there is about having horses, from stallions to youngster, from grooming to training. I learned how to break and ride young horses. I really enjoy spending time with my horses.
I'm a really handy guy, good with tools and with a lot of technical knowledge. Building and repairing things around the barn is no problem. On the other side, I really enjoy repairing all kind of mechanical stuff from lawn mower to basic tractor repairs.
I started riding as a child in English riding school. I got two licenses rider 1 and rider 2. I started basic dressage and jumping. Later on, I switched to western and find out that is the right discipline for me. I got my trainer and started to train western reining and pleasure. Then my trainer moved away, so I started to train myself alone with help of the internet and training lessons video. I really enjoy natural horsemanship and love to ride my horse without saddle and bridleless.
I never really had a wish for competing, always had riding for my own pleasure.
