Equine Work Experience
For a few weeks every summer (2-6weeks) the last 3 years I work s a riding trekking guide in the mountains of Rondane in Norway. With groups up to 18 guests we arrange rides stretching from 2 to 5 days. I also work as a riding instructor at the riding camp for youth at the same place. This year I will also work on a trip for experienced riders where we guide the kettle from the local farms into the mountain for the summer. I grew up right with a stable as my neighbour on the countryside. My mother had horses when I was little, so I was on horseback before I could walk and rode on safe horses independently from when I was 5. I rode a horse weekly 1-2 times a week from the age of 7 and later when I was 14 had my own warmblood trotter that I re-schooled and owned for 3+ years. I don't have my own horse at the moment, but I ride an Oldenburg gelding weekly. I have basic+ dressage experience as I regularly have had dressage classes for instructors to improve myself as a rider.
Specialities
Worked with young horses, all kinds of breeds from cold bloods to Oldenburgers & Andalusian horses. Retrained horses from injury. Worked with environmental exposure for stressed horses. Re-schooled my own horse from a trotter background to light dressage. I have had a lot of instructor-roles, such as Personal trainer, riding trekking guide, instructor in the military, activity leader at a wilderness school for youth.
Type of Ride Work
Riding trekking guide, environmental exposure for stressed horses, light dressage + all of the above. All kind of breeds from cold bloods, warmblood trotters, Norwegian & danish warmbloods, Oldenburgers, Andalusian horses etc.
Competition Details
I have mostly worked with the horses until they are ready to compete. I have always found the journey funnier than the competition.
