Equine Work Experience

Grown up around horses from the day I was born, I got my first pony at 2 and learnt to ride bareback before having a saddle. All my ponies have been young and green broke. My mum and I have trained and sold them as I grew for more than we bought them for with great success.

Specialities

Not specialised in a specific area or expertise as I am still finishing school, but I am super keen to learn, adapt, and experience as much as possible! My mum has always had young horses and bred her own foal when I was young as well, so I am comfortable and confident around and riding the horses.

Type of Ride Work

I have mostly competed my ponies in eventing and show jumping but have done the odd show hunter and dressage days too. My family moved to a sheep and cattle farm when I was 12 so we now have access to plenty of hill riding and the horses had to get used to stock and machinery too. This also gave me the opportunity to use ditches, logs and gates for training my young ponies.

Competition Details

I have spent time in a couple different horse environments over the years offering my help with vaulting, mucking out, tacking up, mustering a young herd of horses into yards for their first training/hoof maintenance, and riding/exercising the horses. I have always done my own show prep such as washing plaiting etc, although my experience in that area could always be improved.
