Although I am currently not riding, I started riding properly at age 6. I've had experience moving between many barns and have ridden many horses over the years. I was an active member of the Pony Club in my local area in the UK, and was ready to turn my hand to any job, discipline or horse that came along!
From age 15 I started riding other people's horses as projects, e.g. they were a bit tricky, for their owner, or they didn't have the time to ride as much. As well as this I starting competing more seriously with my horse at the time, my main interests were show jumping and dressage (occassionaly I would do ridden showing, sports horse classes etc.). I am very familiar with how yards and barns (including private barns, riding schools and livery yards) run as well as being very knowledgeable about horse care: grooming, mucking out, field maintenance, turnout, rugging, feeding etc. Although I haven't worked with youngsters/unbroken horses, it is a dream of mine to do this!
I am a British national but I am currently studying a Bachelor degree in Minorities and Multilingualism in the Netherlands. I am a hardworking, passionate individual who is ready for a challenge. I also enjoy travelling and the excitement of getting to know a new place, its culture and people! Since finishing school in 2017, I moved to the Netherlands, and have been here ever since, so I am used to relocating and very willing to do so for a job opportunity.
Although, I have never been paid to work with horses, I would say my experience around my yard has set me up well in understanding the demands of working with horses. I would really enjoy working with younger horses, however I'd also be interesting in working in as a groom, stable hand, show photographer, anything that boosts my experience at working at a yard. I am willing to relocate for work, pretty much anywhere in the world as I am quite focussed and committed to working abroad.
