18 years of experience with horses. I have no 'official' certifications, but I have the gift of always staying calm in whatever situation. I pick up things (especially languages) very quickly.
Unfortunately, my family is not and never will be involved with horses. It is nice to be surrounded by people that share your passion. I am very MOTIVATED, AMBITIOUS and FLEXIBLE. I am incredibly responsible, very willing to learn anything as often as possible and am not lazy!
In a few months I will have my masters degree in International Development, specialisation in Communication. I have been working with horses for about 18 years now. I am a very social, happy, adventurous and adaptable hard worker, enjoying life!
English style, few months of Western trailing. 18 years of experience with horses. After learning all the basics in show jumping and dressage, at the age 13-17 I switched to riding 3 year old horses; teaching them flatwork, dressage and jumping. This shifted to training dressage horses and riding recreationally, building up stamina for championships. During university I rode a Friesian competition (Z2)mare for 4.5 years and an arabian cross. After moving for my internship (@KLM Dutch Royal Airline), I switched to riding 2 very nervous and green Dutch warmbloods. I have exp in teaching kids with mental disorders how to handle horses and how to personally learn from it in social aspects.
I worked for 2 months through Y&G as a farm manager on a (Friesian) breeding farm in Australia with around 12 horses in my care (stallions, gelding, mares, yearlings and foal), including rescue horses needing special care and quarantine. Reference letter uploaded.
I have experience in teaching people with mental disorders (Down's Syndrome, Autism, ADHD, etc.) how to ride horses, but especially how to use interaction with horses as a guidance to improve their personal skills. I'm not a lazy person, have good people & leadership skills, am patient, willing and flexible.
Job: Would prefer a ranch over a luxurious international stable. A fun and true team of colleagues/family. Would love to talk with guests, guide horseback tours, keep horses fit, upkeep of the farm, fix fences, anything. My ideal job would be something cowboy'ish or to work for an equine tourist office, arranging other people's international horse holidays. This of course includes testing out rides myself for the clients ;) Combining my 2 passions: Travel and horses!
