Qualifications

I have a level 5 certificate in horsemanship that I did in Kildalton college in 2023/2024.

Duties of Current Occupation

I have worked in many industries of the equine world. Including, racing yards and show jumping yards. I also had a livery at home where clients would send there horses to me for schooling. I also worked abroad at sunshine tour as a groom.

Equine Work Experience

I was brought up with horses in my life from a very young age. I have had ponies that I have produced and competed in the RDS and now have horses that I produce that I also have competed in the RDS. At home, we have brood mares and foals that I have helped with and managed every year since we started in 2021. I also would have good experience with handling young stock and stallions. I am confident around horses and always look for the least stressful solutions if there is ever a problem with the horse. I have experience with horse first aid and have dealt with horses who have had choke, lameness and shivers ect. I am able to poltess and bandage if it is needed. I also have a lot of experience with breaking horses and ponies. I run a breaking and turnout yard at home and have broken a lot of horses for myself and for others.

Specialities

I have worked with a lot of different types of horses. From brood mares and foals to producing horses to a high competition standard. I have experience with stallions, young horses, breakers and all the way up to high level competition horses. When I was grooming in Spain all the horses in my care were turned out to the highest standard.

Type of Ride Work

I have ridden all types of horses, from hunters to show jumpers to eventers. When I was younger I competed a lot in showing classes and working hunter classes. Now I mainly have young horses that I compete in eventing and working hunters. I have good knowledge of flatwork and I am a confident rider when it comes to jumping. I try not to rush any animal and will only do what I feel the horse is ready for and will never rush the horses into anything.

Competition Details

The aim with my horses every year is Dublin horse show. I have competed there every year since I was on ponies. One of my biggest achievements was winning the working hunter championship there in 2018. I am at shows most weekends with my own horses but I have also worked as a competition groom as well.
