I have a plan to do a equine riding course once I am finished college. I want to enhance my riding skills first.
Equine Work Experience
I haven't worked in top class equestrian environments before but I have worked with top quality horses. I was in Aishling Byrnes home yard riding as a livery but I would also turn out her horses, feed them and muck them out.
I am nineteen years old and I've been riding since I was four. From then I've gone from riding, riding school ponies to riding youngsters helping break them and train them with me being the one to always be the first to sit on the horses. Unfortunately due to college I have had to stop riding for the past year because I just never had time. I would love to get back in the saddle and enhance my experience.
Specialities
I have worked with horses before. All types from stallions, mare, foals and geldings. I have experience leading a team yes I have lead my debate team to two all Ireland semi finals in debating. I know when to take charge but also more importantly, when to step back. I would always have the stables I worked in very clean and all the horses neat and tidy.
Type of Ride Work
As I've said, i have ridden youngsters, rescues that a friend has trained. I have ridden riding school ponies, tried out different ponies for the riding schools seeing which ponies/horses are too fast, too spooky, maybe too strong.
I would need a bit more of a confidence boost in regards to jumping. It would be my favorite category of horse riding. Highest I have jumped is 1.20 on 16.3hh horse called Scooby. I've mostly ridden 16.2hh horses up to 17.1hh due to me being tall.
Competition Details
I have groomed mares and foals for sales and for some local competitions but none to the standards of lets say the RDS or the likes. I am very good at plaiting hair and grooming the horses quite well.
