I have no qualifications but when i was in school i was chosen to help out with the disabled children in the primary school in Kilcullen every Friday in Kill. Here I learnt the health and safety issues surrounding horses. For example I had to lead a horse while a disabled child was mounted. I had to lead the horse over jumps in a gentle manner while making sure the child was safe. I then had to lead the horse back to the stable and untack it.

Army Equation, Curragh. I was chosen to be a part of the army equation for a number weeks during school years. Here I learnt many skills and got a taste of the lifestyle of a yard. I started at 8 am every day and finished at 4pm, Monday to Friday. I started the day with morning feeds making sure each and every horse was looked after. Then I mucked out each stable. Groomed the horses, and rode them out then washed them. I then cleaned tack, I cleaned the grounds outside of the stable making sure everything was in its right place. I raked the leaves, cleaned the store room and got the horses ready for the evening feed. I was asked to return multiple times too.
