Equine Work Experience
Stable Hand at Hillview Stables since January 2018- present. Extensive experience in equine welfare and stable management. Enhanced skills in horse riding, care, communication, and teamwork. Completed a 6-month placement at Hills and Hollows Pony and Horse Farm in Sydney, Australia, managing daily care for 30 horses, teaching riding lessons, and supervising work placements, including one with special needs. Developed strong organizational and management abilities. For 5 years, facilitated equine therapy for children and young adults with disabilities, fostering communication and trust. Adapted methods for non-verbal participants.
Specialities
I've worked with others caring for up to 20 horses, managing feeding, grooming, washing, cleaning, and exercise, honing teamwork skills. Proficient in grooming (plaiting, washing, tail cutting, mane pulling), hoof cleaning, and basic bandaging (travel, stable, knee, hock, tendons, poultice). Skilled in horse exercise methods including lunge work, in-hand work, and loose jumping.
Type of Ride Work
I have 12 years horse riding experience across different disciplines. Participating in these disciplines has honed my technical riding skills and made me a well-rounded and experienced rider. Schooled ponies for the yard Farriery, focusing on mounting, flat work, turns, and muscle development and basci jumping technique. (April-September 2021)
