I completed the A.I.R.E tests up to level four when I was 13 and then stopped due to moving yard.
I have just left college in NUIM, where I was studying general science, hoping to take equine business in AIT next year instead.
I have been around horses since I was very young, working part time on a livery yard/riding school in exhange for lessons from 2014-2015 and was then in paid fulltime employment for the summer of 2016. I work parttime in a riding school during school holidays when they need help with the pony camps and general yard duties. Working in the livery yard consisted of general yard work, hard feeds, haying, waters, mucking out, turning out liverys and changing rugs in the mornings and repeated again in the evening time, I also did a small bit of teaching both with groups and private lessons. In the riding school it was less rigid duties however still the mucking out and grooming, tacking up for lessons, plaiting with the pony campers etc.
My riding abilities are not on par with my yard experience. I was riding inconsistantly through many of the years I was working and am only now getting back into it seriously. I have a 6yr old ISH mare on full loan.
I have bare minumum competition experience at the moment but I hope to be out competing at 80/90cm in local competitions by summer time.
