Duties of Current Occupation
Redfield Farms, Ocala FL : Groom (at shows and at the sales barn), Broodmare and Foal care and daily handling, young horse handling and training (ground work and riding), turnouts, feed and supplement administration, IV and IM medications.
Equine Work Experience
Breeding: Assisted in all aspects of AI, Broodmare care (prenatal and postnatal), Assisted in foaling, Witnessed and lightly assisted in stallion collection.
Training: Daily care and handling of two-year old warmbloods, Round pen lunging, Bit introduction, saddle introduction, desensitisation, ridden for a walk, trot, and canter.
Sales Barn: Feed, Turnouts, Medications, Showing to clients, Flatwork, Videoing at shows, Grooming at shows, Warm up arena.
Specialities
Came from a busy sport horse sales, breeding and training facility. Foal and brood mare handling were a daily task. Minimal stallion handling. Myself and one colleague started 35 two year olds for 2025. At the sales barn, I would be assigned a weekly roster of horses to be ridden, schooled and hopefully sold.
Type of Ride Work
Warmbloods: First rides, Green youngsters, Well-schooled sales horses (flatwork and schooling over caveletti's)
Thoroughbreds: I've owned off the track and ex-polocrosse TB's, I've recently just started a 3 year old TB for a client.
Other: I have always done some work schooling ponies for clients/ riding schools.
I have not competed, purely due to moving around and funding this sport myself. All of my riding skill has been built up over years of working for and alongside trainers.
Competition Details
I have worked in competition yards, however I have groomed at shows minimally. I have clipped and plaited a handful of times.
