Bio
I found my love for horses accidentally. One summer I was looking to help my head and thought horses would help, and they did. I haven’t left their side since. They are my world, passion, and love. I’ve been riding for 5 years now, yard hand for 4Documents
Duties of Current Occupation
A yard hand, looking after horses and the yard. Feeding, grooming, mucking out, tacking up, assisting in lessons. Riding ponies to be sold. Allocating children to horses. Up keep of the yard
Equine Work Experience
I’ve worked with horses on the ground and on horse back. From my years in riding schools and livery yards I’ve come to learn key behaviours or horses and different ways to ride different horses. I’ve grown my knowledge on their needs, wellbeing, feeding, and work. I’ve worked with horses and young children as well as young horses. Ive broken in a Shetland who can flat and jump. I had a horse but outgrew him in height.
Specialities
I began just helping out in a yard, grooming and racking up. 6 months later I was offered the chance to sit on a horse, and from then I never got off. My love for horses began on but ground. I built my team relationships up from there, soon becoming the senior yard hand. I am a good communicator, and enthusiastic person, making it easy to grow and work with a team. I enjoy learning and sharing knowledge, so the more the better!
Type of Ride Work
Mainly flatwork and showjumping. I’ve done cross country too but never hunted although it’s on my bucket list. I’ve hacked and galloped on beaches and open fields
Competition Details
I have completed but never worked in a competition yard
