My interest in working with horses began when I was 7 when my father bought me a Shetland pony. I was thought the basics of riding, horse care and maintenance by him. We also attended local chevals, by the age of 11 I was well able to join a pony trekking yard where I volunteered into my teenage years. My duties in the yard included grooming the horses, turning them out, tacking them up, cleaning tack and gear, cleaning and maintenance of the yard and stables, preparing feed and teaching lessons as I worked there on a weekly basis for years my riding experience became more advanced to the point where I was comfortable and capable working any horse any age and breed! pony racing Connemara, she had been used for breeding and was out of work for years. Starting from scratch with her advanced my skills and I gained even more confidence working with her and going to shows together. She was a brilliant all-rounder but we mainly focused on light arena work, XC and jumping. My friend of years had watched me own and work with horses and had one herself when she was younger but lost confidence after an accident. I taught her to ride from scratch and when she wanted a
cautious of people and riddled with mites, in a few months I had him turned into a workable, healthy show worthy pony with all bad habits and issues with people dealt with. My father adopted him in 2021 and I continue to work with him on my time off. To conclude I do not have any certificates or degrees relating to equine work, but I do feel I would be perfect for this job as I have countless years of hands on experience.
