I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
My equine journey began at a local riding school, where I gained practical skills in horse care and stable management. I then spent four years at a breeding ranch specializing in Irish cobs, where I learned about breeding, foaling, and young horse training. Transitioning to a riding school as an assistant, I shared my passion for horses with beginner students. Here I focused on safety, effective communication, and fostering a positive learning environment. I also gained experience in lesson planning, horse matching, and facility management. I've also owned and cared for my own horse, an English Thoroughbred with a racing background that I prepared for riding school. In addition to traditional riding disciplines, I've explored trekking and working equitation, leading riders through various terrains and participating in obstacle courses. Throughout my journey, I've developed an understanding of horse behavior, health, and performance, preparing me for roles within the equine industry
I have worked in a horse ranch with about 50 horses, so I handled foals, stallions and mares. Managed small barns and duties included riding, mucking, tucking, saddling/unsaddling, bathing, warming up, administrating medications, blanketing and feeding. I have an assistant vet qualification. Also, with two decades in hospitality and customer service, we're skilled in managing restaurants and bars, leading and working in team.
I have experience in English and American reining, flat work. Brief experience as a trainee to start horses. Brief experience in jumping.
During my tenure at the breeding ranch, I served as a groom for the shows. These shows were designed to assess and award points to foals, stallions, and mares based on the standard breed criteria. My responsibilities included preparing horses for presentation, ensuring they were groomed to perfection, and assisting with their handling during the judging process. This experience honed my attention to detail and care.
